IAA “Transport” Special Edition

IAA 2014

Highlights and a promise kept.

The IAA Special Edition of “Mercedes-Benz Transport” takes its readers on a journey into the world of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles. With two covers, the 86-page edition can be read from both directions and offers news on technical innovations as well as reportages, interviews and impressive photography.

Visitors to the IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair can receive their copy of the new “Transport”.

Spectacular images from Norway and Hong Kong, the latest information on Hydraulic Auxiliary Drive (HAD) as well as the new Actros SLT – hot off the press and timed to coincide with the start of the IAA Commercial Vehicles, we present the Special Edition of “Transport”. In keeping with good IAA “Transport” tradition, the 86-page magazine features two covers and can be read from both directions.

Readers are given an opportunity to discover the whole spectrum of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles. One half of the magazine is dedicated to “Trucks you can trust”, the other half provides news and background information on the innovations Mercedes-Benz is presenting in hall 14/15 and at its outdoor exhibition area.

On the occasion of the 2014 IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair, Ulrich Bastert, Head of Marketing, Sales and Services Mercedes-Benz Trucks, reiterated Mercedes-Benz' promise for producing “Trucks you can trust” – a pledge that underscores the company's focus on reliability and partnership in all aspects. “We make a promise to our customers that our trucks are a good overall economic investment.” This has prompted the “Transport” reporters to head out and see for themselves whether this promise is being kept. They asked entrepreneurs from as far away as Norway and China: “What does `Trucks you can trust´ mean to you?” The Special Edition also includes up-to-date news on the Fuel Duel and the latest information on the overall cost-effectiveness of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.

Among the innovations presented by Mercedes-Benz at the trade fair, all of which are examined and detailed in the “Transport” Special Edition, are the traction assistance system Hydraulic Auxiliary Drive (HAD) and the driving programmes of the automatic transmission system Mercedes PowerShift 3. We also introduce the new Actros SLT with Turbo Retarder Clutch and devote plenty of space to innovations in the field of vans and special purpose vehicles. A prominent feature in this edition is the new Vito. Readers of the “Transport” Special Edition will also find information on the new gas engine in the Econic.
