IAA visitors marvel at Finnish finesse.

The Show Actros belonging to Mika Auvinen thrills IAA visitors. The trucker and his team answer questions from the fans.

Metal specialist Mika Sassi keeps the “Highway Hero” polished to a high gloss even during the IAA.

No doubt about it: the spectacular Mercedes-Benz trucks on display in hall 14/15 never cease to amaze and astonish visitors to the 2014 IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair. Yet once they leave the hall, they cannot help but pull out their cameras or mobile phones. For there it is – the Show Actros belonging to Mika Auvinen from Finland.

Mika Auvinen is much in demand at the 2014 IAA.

With his “Highway Hero” the entrepreneur recently won the coveted Nordic Trophy and along with it captured the hearts of truck fans everywhere. The bright green paintwork, square metre after square metre of polished chrome and lifelike airbrushed portraits have turned Auvinen's Actros into a steel work of art that excites and thrills. “Even aboard the ferry on our way to Hannover, we were constantly being approached by people who were amazed and asking us what kind of a truck it is,” says Auvinen.

There has been no let-up in interest shown by visitors to the IAA. After he and his team spent two days polishing the “Highway Hero” to a high gloss on site, Auvinen, the airbrush artist Perttu Papunen and the metal specialist Mika Sassi were on hand every day to answer visitor's questions. Naturally, they are only to pleased to pose for photos alongside their “Highway Hero”.

More than 5 000 working hours went into producing Mika Auvinen's Show Actros.
