IAA 2016 – Visions of the future, information and entertainment
Events
Digitisation, urban transport solutions, maximum efficiency and road safety – these are the megatrends in the transportation business. Have you any questions on these subjects, and would you like to find out where we are heading? Then pay a visit to our exhibition hall and our competent advisors at this year's trade fair. We'll show you remarkable exhibits with the latest technology, and there is plenty for you to try out.
Over the next days leading up to the exhibition, we'll be presenting one of our vehicles each day – just wait and see.
Fun and chats with like-minded people are part of the experience too. Anyone who has been to the Driver’s Inn at the IAA can confirm this. This year too, the venue where drivers meet up, relax, listen to live music and eat will be destination number one for many visitors.
Also, at the entrance to the exhibition hall you can see the RoadStars ShowTruck. Meet other truck enthusiasts, put your name down for the Truck Trophy adventure or enter the on-site competition complete with a RoadStars waffle.
The countdown has started – until then, you can look at the highlights of the IAA 2015.

sorry our answer took a while. We have forwarded your question to Mercedes-Benz Trucks headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, and this is their answer:
Actros is an artificial word. It is not derived from any language. The name Actros was designed to sound powerful, strong, enduring, highly economical, and aesthetic.
Fun fact: the second syllable "ros" sounds like the German word for horse or steed ("Ross").
Best regards,
