2018 FIA Truck Race in Most

Most – Czech Truck Prix 2018.

Every year a curse awaits the tankpool24 team in Most. The engine doesn't work as it should, the first autumn damp comes much too early or the coffee machine breaks. The RoadStars-sponsored team of Norbert Kiss and Steffen Faas have no explanation as to why, but on this track something always goes wrong.

Best of Most.

The route itself is not the problem. The course in the Czech Republic's Most is a traditional eastern European track which is very varied and attracts many visitors from the Czech Republic and – thanks to its closeness to the border – from Germany. The race opens every year with a cavalcade through the town during which the trucks drive with screeching and smoking tyres. The people of Most love their trucks!

Then it's time for the first day of racing. On the first day of September, the weather brings nasty continuous rainfall which turns the track into something difficult resembling an ice rink. Steffen Faas starts the first race right at the back because of a technical problem. There really does seem to be a curse at work.

The team doesn't give up: Kiss and Faas don't lose control despite the challenging film of water on the track. Faas even moves forward into 3rd place in the Grammer Truck Cup. A new engine upgrade delivers what it promised: a different turbocharger configuration, optimisation of the characteristic curve for a better response and fine-tuning of the speed control brought the power to the track even more quickly than before. This weekend, the tankpool24 team won a total of seven podium places! The sun cautiously breaks through the Czech cloud. Curse? Not this time round!

Truck Race team check: chef Reiner Stradinger.

Everything would fall apart without this man. Reiner cooks around the clock so that the racing team always keeps its strength up. And if nerves are frayed just before the race, the southern German chef boosts morale and keeps the BBQ hot.
