Unimog off-roaders for researchers, explorers and expeditions.

Real adventures start where paved roads end. That‘s why the Mercedes-Benz Unimog, with its high off-road capability, is often the first choice when it comes to off-road operations for expeditions and adventurers, for hunting or for rallies. Their off-road capability and equipment versatility put them on a different level to competitors.

As reliable as always, more powerful than ever before.

The extremely agile off-road models of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog have come to symbolise a vehicle which shows its true off-road character once away from roads and civilisation. Or to be more precise: it is the U 4023 and U 5023 models from the new Unimog generation launched in 2013 which not only inherited the strengths of their short-nosed predecessors, but also surpass them in some areas. In Euro VI configuration and with new mid-mounted engine concept, they combine low fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions with reliable handling even in extreme conditions.

From the rainforest to the desert, over ice and through moors.

Its great reliability and robustness, the high payload and the ability to operate in temperatures between -30 and +45 °C make the Unimog U 4023/U 5023 a reliable partner in rough terrain. Driving over tree trunks is made possible thanks to the extremely high torsional flexibility as well as the high ground clearance of around 50 cm achieved by the portal axles with torque tube technology. The fording depth of up to 1.20 m makes it possible to drive through rivers. And in swampy moorland or on sand, the Tirecontrol system can be used to automatically adapt the tyre pressure via the display in the instrument panel, using pre-programmed driving modes such as “Road”, “Sand” or “Rough terrain”.
