Excitement among the Tankpool24 racing team – it's not long now. The first races for the European Truck Racing Championship will be held at the end of May on the Misano World Circuit in Italy. The two racing Actros from the Nürtingen racing team will be there. The team, headed by Markus Bauer, presented the truck and drivers of the new season.

New face in the cab.

One of the two Actros which will be competing this year in the all-black RoadStars design will be piloted by twice-champion "Norbi" Kiss. The new team member is Steffen Faas. He comes from the Black Forest and last season he competed on the Nürburgring and the Slovakiaring. Right from the start he was awarded points in both locations.

Norbert Kiss would like to carry on from his successful season 2017, where he came third. Team captain Markus Bauer said: "Our aim is quite clear; we want Norbi to come in the top three again. We want to improve our team ranking with both drivers."

Engine fine tuning.

The trucks are being improved even further to achieve this aim. The team has made a few changes, especially around the rear axle. Also, the mechanics have worked hard on the suspension. The Actros was given new springs, a new differential and new stabilisers. And to improve the weight distribution, the mechanics made the trucks even lighter and balanced out excess ballast perfectly. And the engine – a 772 hp strong six-cylinder inline engine with 12,800 cc displacement and 5 500 Nm torque – was given extra fine tuning for improved driveability.

The team is already happy about the logistic support they are being given. Tankpool24 Racing were able to win the Hegelmann Group as their new transport partner.
