Transporting motorcycles – behind the steering wheel: company director Lukáš Knop

He doesn't just steer a truck but a whole company. Lukáš Knop is only 34 years old but he has already founded a successful company with his colleagues.
In 2010 Lukáš Knop founded the company Hannas Masters with other colleagues; today it is one of the leading transportation companies in the Czech Republic. Special vehicles don't just transport any old load – usually the load is valuable motorcycles from the luxury Harley Davidson brand which are transported throughout Europe for motorcycle fans.
A childhood dream.
Lukáš Knop has been a part of the work process for 15 years and for nine of those his name has been closely connected with Hannas Masters. “Driving a truck has been my dream since childhood. I have always loved big, powerful vehicles and I used to dream about driving one myself one day. After finishing high school, I began a university course and started driving trucks in the holidays to fulfil my childhood dream. In the end I didn't finish university, but my love of trucks remained,” says Lukáš enthusiastically.
Company founder, driver, organiser…
Lukáš’s job involves a lot more than just driving. Of course, as one of the company owners he has to deal with a whole range of other things related to ensuring the business runs smoothly. And when he sets off to a motorcycle roadshow in a truck, he quickly becomes an organiser and supervisor too.
Lukáš is particularly fond of Italy and Spain which are two of the popular destination countries for bikers in Europe. “I really like these two countries. I love the lifestyle there, which is not as hectic as here. There, people are more considerate of one another; they manage to solve any problems calmly and it is never difficult to reach an agreement with them about very different things. They also know how to enjoy life and make it even more pleasant for themselves with unique food and drink which I like very much too. Every time a journey takes me to these countries, I look forward to new experiences.”
Comfortable vehicle fleet.
The pool of vehicles at Hannas Masters is made up of Actros 1845 and Actros 1848 with GigaSpace cabs. And how does 34-year old Lukáš rate the vehicles with the three-pointed star? “I see them as definitely the best tractor units on the market at the moment. Also, as a fan of modern technology, I am pleased to see that Mercedes-Benz pays such a lot of attention to innovations. I would have no fear of saying that Mercedes‑Benz is the market leader in this regard. Furthermore, I particularly appreciate the overall comfort both in the cab and when driving. That is why driving an Actros GigaSpace weighing many tonnes is just as comfortable as driving a luxury passenger car and I enjoy that tremendously. And even more so when I have to drive about twenty thousand kilometres a month. When the mileage is so high, comfort is precisely what I need as a driver. I really like this work and it gives me complete satisfaction. As a driver it gives me a great general overview and at the same time brings a series of unexpected moments with it that I would never have the chance to experience in a typical office job,” Lukáš tells us.
