A showroom and a shop in an Antos

DRIVERS

Driver Eanna uses his Antos to showcase the latest tools of the trade.

Eanna O’Brien sells tools to all aspects of the motor trade and even on occasion, the aircraft industry, all from his Mercedes-Benz Antos.

A mobile tool shop.

Eanna, 32 and based on the north side of Dublin, became a franchisee for Snap-On, the mobile tools retailer in 2011. First driving a Mercedes-Benz Vario, he then moved on to an Antos and describes his business as, “basically a mobile tool shop.” Snap-On have been supplying tools to the UK and Ireland since the 1950s; Eanna regularly visits motor and HGV mechanics, repair and body shops plus occasionally the aircraft industry too.

Impressive features, that come as standard.

The Antos is perfectly equipped for the job, as Eanna says, “It is an amazing truck.” The original truck features which come as standard, instantly impressed him, “The chassis is a LNR, it has air suspension on the front and rear, it’s designed for certain uses – it’s basically a low ride chassis. It’s already got a high spec and is perfect for what I do.”

Eanna also enjoys the spacious cab and its added extras including an Apple CarPlay radio, automatic climate control and fridge – all of which ensure each journey is comfortable.

A superb truck made and sold by professionals.

The truck was purchased from Intercounty Truck and Van in Peterborough, UK, where Eanna received fantastic service. “The guy who sold me the truck, Paul Hind is a gentleman to deal with and knows his product inside out. He’s very polite and professional at what he does and I would definitely deal with him again.”

Better than a desk job for this driver.

Eanna luckily doesn’t have to travel too far – he drives approximately 30,000 km a year, although the long hours can sometimes be taxing. When he’s not driving he’s spending quality time with his family, “I’ve got a little fella, he’s 8 months old and he’s my world.”

Still, he doesn’t mind his job too much, “I like being mobile every day, going somewhere different, seeing different things and not being in the same place.” Yes, we think the open road suits this driver.
