The Czech company Kámen Zbraslav, a.s., relies on the construction professionals at Mercedes‑Benz Trucks.

Alongside the Arocs 4151, which is now fitted with the concrete pump, Kámen Zbraslav, a.s., also has an Arocs 3243 as a truck mixer in its company fleet.

With five axles, a cool paint job in the company colours and naturally the design itself, Kámen Zbraslav, a.s., has acquired a powerful and robust new workhorse. The new Arocs demonstrates every quality necessary to get the job done on the construction site.

Having left the Mercedes‑Benz factory in Wörth as an 8×4, the original chassis received its fifth axle at Mercedes‑Benz Custom Tailored Trucks (CTT) in Molsheim. This is a legal requirement because of the weight of the Putzmeister body including the 56-metre boom. Thanks to this addition, the Arocs is now a 10×4/6 – with two driven axles and three steered.

Driver Luděk Drchota parks his new truck in the company’s quarry on the banks of the Vltava River near Prague to demonstrate the features of the Arocs.

Impressively, the boom is nearly 56 metres in length. The rear supports necessary for this have a wingspan of 12.1 metres.

Luděk enjoys the benefits of the 375 kW in the Arocs 4151 every day. But in order to use the concrete pump correctly, you need far more experience than the average driver on the road. “For example, as soon as the spreader arms are filled with concrete, they drop another one and a half metres at the end,” says Luděk.

The technology used in the construction of the truck allows for working with concrete at temperatures down to –10°C, meaning the Arocs can be employed throughout the year with very few exceptions.
