Scandinavian gem: Holger Hahn and his LA 312

Classic vehicles

The Dane.

In Denmark, Holger Hahn found a lovingly restored LA 312 in very good condition with a traceable history.

The series.

At the beginning of the 1950s, the Danish company Bohnstedt-Petersen A/S imported around 130 Mercedes-Benz chassis from Germany for Danish civil defence.

In 1957, an additional order of 16 vehicles was made involving the LA 312 series with a short wheelbase, which were equipped with flatbed bodies in Denmark.

Following a fourth series of deliveries in 1961, Danish civil defence switched to the successor – short-hood trucks were ordered from then on.

Thanks to the long-lasting technology, the communities took on the vehicles after they were decommissioned and, in many cases, continued using them for decades.
