Waldemar Behn’s L 311: A flatbed truck for transporting beer and a real eye-catcher
Classic vehicles
A truck from the years of the German economic miracle is today one of the jewels in the fleet of drinks wholesaler Waldemar Behn.
The series.
The L 311 is one of the most formidable trucks from the time of the German economic miracle. The market share in 1956 was a formidable 58.6 per cent.
The vehicles from Mannheim were rolled off the line a total of 56,000 times until 1961. The series was however initially still called L 3500 from 1950 to 1954. It wasn’t until 1955 that the classification was called L 311. Besides Mannheim, the truck was also built in India, Brazil and Argentina.
For the most part, its construction remained the same for 12 years.
