30 years undercover.

Wolfgang Reich was sure when he first saw it: there was a very rare tractor unit hidden under all of the winter services equipment. Today, he is the owner of probably the last ever roadworthy LAS 1624 in Germany.

The model series.

“There is hardly any terrain or incline that the LAS 1624 can’t manage,” is the promise on a brochure from 1969. 1969 was also the first year in which all-wheel drive tractor units with 176 kW were given the designation LAS 1624 and LAS 1924. They were only available with a wheelbase measuring 3600 millimetres.
