Asian adventure – from China to Stuttgart

Series: Travel diary

Travelling on the new Silk Road.

The 10,000-kilometre road trip: our series about the mega route.

The constant companions of Chinese truckers are instant noodles. The drivers from the Mercedes-Benz Trucks team grew to love the “national dish”.

Empty motorways, “Chinese-style” service stations, instant noodles and strange encounters: a group of test drivers from Mercedes-Benz Trucks drove three Actros back to Germany from China on the new Silk Road, after a series of test drives. The trucks belong to the Daimler Trucks endurance test fleet that ensures quality and reliability in markets all around the globe.

Three Actros, two continents.

The return journey covers more than 10,000-kilometres through China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland. Eberhard Joos from the Daimler Trucks development team kept a diary for you on the tour.

This is a story about unusual impressions on long journeys through Asia and eastern Europe, and about the exciting adventures the crew of developers and drivers had on the way. From next week on, you can read about it in our four-part series on RoadStars.
