Fuel Consumption: Lower costs with the Actros 1842
Business & Logistics
Lower environmental impact and lower costs: the fuel-efficient Euro VI Actros operated by the Emons haulage company requires four litres less diesel per 100 kilometres – and that figure could be improved even further.
The riverside trees glow golden as the cable ferry in Caputh near Potsdam glides smoothly across the water. During the crossing, Emons driver Ingo Rabenhorst has switched off the engine of his new Actros 1842: “The ferry needs 15 litres of diesel for the six trips per hour,” ferryman Karsten Grunow estimates. That’s 15 litres for 420 metres. Rabenhorst’s new Actros needs on average 28 litres – for 100 kilometres!
