KSC Transport in Romania relies on the Mercedes ServiceCard
KSC Transport operates throughout Europe, handling an ever-increasing number of orders. The Mercedes ServiceCard* helps the company in Romania to stay flexible at the same time as pursuing its growth path.
Multimodal transport, transhipment, warehousing: many of his customers are after an all-round, stress-free package deal, says Sebastian Kiss. The 41-year-old manager has obliged by building a high-capacity logistics centre. And he also appreciates perfect service – of the kind provided by the Mercedes ServiceCard: “For over two years now, we have been utilising all the services that it provides,” says the owner and managing director of KSC Transport in Oradea, a large city located in the northwest of Romania.
When Sebastian Kiss’ drivers are on the road in the Actros, which often takes them to Italy, Germany, Spain or Denmark, they use the card for refuelling. The accounts department at head office receives an easy-to-read statement every month. KSC Transport also pays toll charges via the Mercedes ServiceCard, which is offered in partnership with UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA).
In the event of a breakdown – this is also part of the all-round package – Mercedes-Benz Service is available 24 hours a day. “We receive vital information on our mobile phones via the UTA app,” says Kiss, and he mentions the service station search and fuel price comparison as examples.
“We use the card for all our trucks with the star, and whenever we get a new one a card is automatically issued for it,” adds Kiss, who founded the company in 1994. He acquires new trucks at a steady pace. For years he has been consistently investing in growth, turning his company into a powerhouse in the process. Today he owns 34 trucks, of which 18 are Actros, and 110 trailers. If the vehicles of the 80 or so subcontractors working for KSC Transport on a permanent basis are included, the fleet amounts to some 150 trucks – and rising.
“It means we’re big enough to handle any type of transport contract,” says Kiss. And yet, he says, the operation is also lean enough to be able to work closely with each individual customer – the industrial goods manufacturer ordering deliveries from Italy to Germany using combined transport, or the beverage company supplying customers throughout Europe directly from Romania. Sebastian Kiss has every confidence that they will be able to retain the necessary flexibility even as they continue to grow – not least thanks to the Mercedes ServiceCard.
