2019 Mercedes-Benz Trucks Calendar “Elements”: the January motif

Water element: bitter cold, huge distances – extreme trucking in Scandinavia.

There aren't many places in Sweden where more water and snow fall from the sky than in Riksgränsen. It is located in the Scandinavian mountains at an altitude of about 500 metres, close to the north Atlantic and with an east wind from the continent, all of which make for unpleasant weather most of the year. The summers are short and only in July do temperatures rise above ten degrees. The winter, on the other hand, brings snow up to two metres deep and roads coated in thick ice. A test of endurance for trucks – and a challenge for the Actros 1863 LS.
