RoadStars at the Trucker & Country Festival in Geiselwind

24 & 25 May 2015

34th Trucker & Country Festival in Geiselwind during the Whitsun holiday.

Country flair, a model truck show, lots of things to see and of course the 500 SHOW trucks with their drivers as the festival's centrepiece will guarantee that the 34th CULT festival is going to be a great attraction. The trucks will be given completely different styling by their young drivers with musical, film and fantasy world themes. Simply great – and it's all shown on the road over thousands of square metres. TIP TOP both outside and in – some of the drivers are happy to let you take a look inside their cabs on the "Day of the Open HGVs".

What exactly does driving a TRUCK involve? In the children's section (Kinderland), the truck ambassadors show children just how they are seen by professional truck drivers and teach them about blind spots and lots more to make sure that children get safely to where they are heading.

Grown-ups get their money's worth as well: the police, trade control board and trade association are arranging great events to demonstrate just what drivers have to do and the dangers they encounter. They are also bringing seat belt simulators and roll-over cabs with them.

And both drivers and guests can also prove what team spirit means as there will be 5-a-side human bar football match on Sunday and Monday. On the large, inflatable "field", the players will replace the "figures" and have a fixed position on the bar, just as in bar football. Success only comes by everyone working together. Anyone can set up a team of their own and join in.

The Strohofer family and their team have invited prestigious bands. The musical programme will be launched on Friday with the famous German country band Amarillo and Nighthawk. On Saturday, Jim Everett is presenting his "American Country Music", once again Larry Schuba & Band from Berlin will get the event hall rocking and the Lennerockers will be thrilling the entire audience regardless of age. On Sunday, the Loose Moose Band, Danny June Smith – one of Europe's best known country singers – and the "German Johnny Cash" Gunter Gabriel will be on stage. The musical event will be rounded off on Monday afternoon by the Yukon River Band and the Fabulous Texadillos. One special highlight will be the traditional German Schlager music evening on Sunday with a tribute show lasting for several hours which will include Helene Fischer, Andreas Gabalier and Andrea Berg's greatest hits. The concerts will be presented by Jenny Jung – well-known for her work with ProSieben Sat.1 Media AG, Hit Radio N1 and Radio Gong.

As special thanks, 500 truckers will be presented with a so-called "RoadStars Breakfast Voucher" under the motto "Mercedes-Benz Trucks says thanks for your great performance on roads all round the world". There will also be a "Welcome Package" for all participants. And in addition, hostesses will distribute RoadStars advertising materials throughout the whole show grounds.

NEW – a show truck from the motorway truck stop and event centre will be presented and blessed at the festival – also symbolic of steady driving under a good star and as a blessing for all road users.

On Monday, the festival will draw to a close with the exciting award ceremonies for the Best Truck 2015 and the Greatest Country Whitsuntide Service.

The event hall, music hall, paved areas and the many undercover venues at the truck stop mean the event runs independently of the weather.

When the Strohofer family issues an invitation to visit Geiselwind at Whitsun that is a sure sign there will be many other highlights awaiting the visitors.
