Street Art: Leon Keer paints an Arocs in Finland

RoadStars meets Street Art

An Arocs in Finland.

Disappearing into the Finnish woods – this Arocs log tractor combination exudes that North Cape feeling.

The task:

About 65 per cent of Finland's surface is covered by forests. Pines, spruces and birch trees characterise the landscape. The wood industry is one of the most important sectors of this Scandinavian country's economy. How does it look when a robust Arocs log tractor combination loads a tonne-weight of tree trunks? 37 year-old artist Leon Keer painted precisely this moment.

"I was born in Utrecht in the Netherlands. I present my work all over the world. I once painted on a mountain summit, at an altitude of 2500 metres accompanied by birds of prey, marmots and mountain goats. I am self-taught and experiment a lot with a huge range of materials. I have been a professional artist since 1997. I tell stories often and gladly with my artwork."

"The greatest challenge for my motif was the composition: the truck had to be recognisable as such but at the same time placed in an environment which could be recognised at first glance too."
