Retrofitting Predictive Powertrain Control in the Arocs

When should I downshift, when should I simply let it roll? With experience, many a journey can be driven with ease. But staying fully concentrated every day of the week, or even the year, is hardly possible. That's why Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC) can also be retrofitted on the Arocs. The system integrates a driving style into the automation which is adapted to the given topography: by combining Mercedes PowerShift 3 with GPS data and topographical maps, Predictive Powertrain Control pre-emptively optimises the shift points and the cruise control speed. The system helps drivers to drive more fuel-efficiently, as well as to feel more relaxed behind the wheel. This also applies to construction vehicles, which often clock up vast mileage on arterial routes and for which retrofitting can pay off in as little as a few months. Predictive Powertrain Control covers 95 percent of the more than 295 000 kilometres of motorways and main roads across Europe.
