The Heck driving school uses an Actros as a training vehicle

Vehicle & Technology

A driving classroom.

Modern technology and a connection with the region: the Werner Heck driving school from Frankenthal relies on an Actros with all of the available assistance systems when training its students to drive a truck.

“Our driving school cars are noticed here – the black and red paintwork is familiar throughout Frankenthal and the region where we have a total of four branches. That is why we chose the same colour combination for our training truck. I picked up the Actros 2543 directly at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth together with the company’s owner Thorsten Rahm as it is only 70 kilometres away. We do around 40,000 kilometres annually in the Actros. We keep the vehicles for six to eight years. We are proud of our fellow Palatinate from Wörth. The training vehicles that we had prior to the current Actros were all from Mercedes-Benz and survived their time at the driving school without a hitch. It's the proximity to our authorised dealer, the technical innovations, the impressive ergonomics in the cab and the excellent driving school equipment that make the Actros our ideal training vehicle. The StreamSpace cab provides enough space for more than two people. This is a real advantage for the practical exam and when instructing up to five students about the technology in the truck. That said, we don't just want to teach driving and how to use the assistance systems. Every student also needs to learn that the power and size of a truck bring an enormous amount of responsibility with them.”
