Truck Generations

Spain, Barcelona, Fira de Bellcaire Market.

The Catalans call it Encants – its official name is: La Fira de Bellcaire. It is the most important flea market in Barcelona and one of the oldest markets in Europe.

Its origins go back to the 14th century. Well over 500 vendors tout their wares on a total surface area of over 15,000 square metres. The market opens its doors four times a week. It is a paradise for bargain hunters and antique enthusiasts alike.

Just as impressive as the variety of goods on offer is the market's futuristic-looking roof: it is the example for contemporary architecture in Barcelona and is built completely of mirrors. The structure designed by architect Fermín Vázquez combines the idea of an open market with the use of a giant awning protecting visitors from the rain or the heat of the midday sun.

When, in the morning, the first bargain hunters start flooding into the market, the Lo 2000 truck makes it first delivery of fresh goods. Reliable and on time. That's a point of honour for the world's first light truck with a Diesel engine fitted as standard.
