DTM 2017 season opener in Hockenheim

Event

Beginning of a new era.

Ever since its 1995 début, the DTM has always started off at the Hockenheimring race track located in the southern German state of Baden-Württemberg. On its 400th DTM race weekend, the new vehicle generation of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport has its first two race débuts. From 5 May - 7 May 2017, the eagerly awaited 2017 racing season begins.

With two race weekends per season as well as test drives before the start of the season, the drivers and the engineers know the Hockenheimring inside out. This year’s event, however, will be slightly different: this coming weekend, all three manufacturers are racing the brand new 2017 vehicle generation in the first two events.

On 5 - 7 May 2017 everything the motor sport heart desires is on offer: top speeds of up to 270 kilometres per hour provide a thrill for both driver and spectator, and besides the exciting duels and the fantastic atmosphere in the paddock, there are autograph sessions and concerts for the fans.

At the end of the season, on 15 October after 18 races, the trophies are awarded at the Hockenheimring. RoadStars naturally hopes to significantly add to their 175 victories and of course want to have a Mercedes-Benz driver holding up the winner’s trophy.

RoadStars will present the latest DTM impressions from 2017 directly after the season opener.
