Remo Greiner loves Italy – and his Actros

On the road heading south.

Remo Greiner from Switzerland drives full and partial loads right across Europe in the Actros. Besides his job, he is passionate about Mediterranean cuisine and culture.

Samnaun is a city in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Here, in the middle of the beautiful mountain scenery in the valley that borders Tirol, where the famous "Silvretta Arena" ski area is located, is Remo Greiner's home.

It is therefore not surprising that the 32-year-old enjoys mountain sports in his spare time. When the first snow falls, he heads straight to the slopes with his skis or snowboard. Sometimes he also plays ice hockey.

At home in the mountains: Remo lives in Samnaun in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. When there is snow on the ground and he is not at the wheel, he can often be found on the slopes.

Enjoying Italy.

Remo grew up not only with winter sports, but also with lorries. With a long-distance lorry driver as a father, Remo was born into the trucker life, so to speak. "I am on the road from Monday to Friday, sometimes even at the weekend. My private life is restricted", says Remo and is convinced: "You really have to love the job to live the way we long-distance lorry drivers do."

A mechanic by trade, Remo loves travelling with his Actros every week.Remo is employed by Jenal AG, a family business based in Samnaun.

Remo usually drives his loads from Switzerland to Italy. He adores any route that takes him to foreign countries. "I love the good food and life in general in Italy or Spain. It is compensation for the fact that I can't always see my family and friends when I want to."

Customised cab.

Another consolation for longer absences from home is his lorry. "It's the be-all and end-all for me", says Remo, who also likes to show the Actros at driver events. "I'm a big fan of the modern cab and all the electronics in it."He has also decorated the inside and outside of his lorry with various applications.

With great attention to detail, Remo invests a considerable amount of his free time into the customised design of the vehicle. Recently he was rewarded for this: In 2017, he was awarded fifth place at the "Oberland Trucker Treffen" meet in Bad Tölz in Bavaria."Of course that makes me happy", says Remo. "But the best thing is really that I can take pleasure from my beautiful lorry every day".
