Both the same age: Wolfgang Reich and his NG 2626 6x4

Classic vehicle

Family colour green.

Tipper trucks have always fascinated Wolfgang Reich ever since he was little. When he was restoring his NG 2626 6x4 he chose turquoise-green paint, the colour of the family firm founded by his grandfather.

Wolfgang Reich bought his three-axle vehicle from a Swabian haulier.

The model series.

In 1973, Mercedes‑Benz started producing new generation (NG) 16 to 26-tonne tipper trucks. The eight and ten cylinder engines (OM 402 and OM 403 respectively) were already familiar from the LP model series.

For the first major facelift/new development of the model series in 1980, the output of the naturally aspirated engine was increased from 188 kW (256 hp) to 206 kW (280 hp). So a “26” was only available from model series SK.
