Street Art: Frederike Fredda Wouters paints an Actros at the Victoria Falls

RoadStars meets Street Art

An Actros at the Victoria Falls.

An Actros conquers the jungle: Frederike Wouters is inspired by Africa's impressive nature.

A question of perspective: the artists draw their motifs on the ground such that they are distorted. The amazing 3D effect only becomes apparent from a particular angle.

The task:

The Victoria Falls in the Republic of Zambia are one of the natural wonders of Africa. Here, the water masses of the Zambezi river pour down across 1708 metres into a gorge that is 110 metres deep with steep basalt walls and which runs at right angles to the flow of the river. Not far from the falls a well-tried Actros works its way through muddy tracks with its cargo. 31 year-old artist Frederike Fredda Wouters recreated this scene.

"I come from Kevelaer in Germany. A festival at a Bulgarian vineyard, a forest in Latvia, the roof of a shopping centre in Hamburg that was still under construction and the runway of an airport in Florida are some of the most exciting places at which I have painted."

"I started street art at the age of 14. I learn a lot from my own mistakes and through the contact with other artists. We swap ideas and techniques and develop further together. Animals and nature are my favourite topics."
